More Marisa 737

Back by popular demand - introducing more photos of my Marisa 737 wedding gown. I know how frustrating it is that Marisa shows so few of their gowns on their website. It drove me nuts when I was trying to decide on my gown. Well for those interested in the Marisa 737 - here are a bunch of photos at all different angles (close up and far shots). Enjoy lovely brides to be. Hope this helps you decide on whether this is the dress for you. I did what I believe is the best bustle treatment for this gown - an American bustle with a french (under bustle) on the liner layers. It worked like a charm. I should also mention my dress might look different to you and that's for a couple reasons.

1. I added hook closure buttons down the back of my gown

2. I deepened the sweetheart neckline

  2. Yay! Congrats on finding the perfect wedding gown (as I think it is). Yes mine is ivory! It's a soft ivory nothing glaring:) Hope that helps!

  3. Thanks! They didn't specify more than stating ivory on the order form. It was the second shop I went to in Alexandria, Va. Love your pics. You look beautiful!

  7. I know this is so random, but are you selling your dress by any chance?

  8. Hi There! I might consider selling my gown...I have thought about it a few times...but have also thought about dying it and cutting it short. When is your wedding?

  9. I bought this gown last month for my OCT 2011 wedding. I fell in love with it, and have been trying to find pictures online. Thank you so much for posting these! Funnily enough, those are the exact alterations we're doing to mine! :)

  11. Hi there! Can I ask did you have the gown altered by someone local or did you have the sweetheart custom made by Marisa?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hi Nicolle! My bridal shop locally did the alteration to deepen the sweetheart neckline. I'm sure if you bring a photo or 2 with you from my blog they can match the look easily. I hope that helps:)

  13. Hey Erin,

I just bought the same dress and am definitely planning for buttons and a sweetheart neckline. I think the zip looks a little sad and lonely w/o its button friends!

I wanted to ask what you did with underwear?? I'm planning on getting cups added to my dress but I'm not very... "well endowed", and I'd like some lift. Any recommendations?

Also - do you have any pictures of the back of the dress with the bustle done up? I've only seen the Marisa 737 done with a french bustle....

Happy you you to email me at vanessa dot quake at gmail dot com.

    Thanks! :)

  14. Hi Vanessa!

I totally agree the zipper does look sad without buttons. I recommend silk instead of satin buttons since the shine of satin doesn't quite match the dress. I wore a long line bustier underneath and that worked out great! It was padded so added that extra oomph! http://www.ecrater.com/p/7703810/flattering-me-longline-bridal-bra

I'll send you some pics of the bustle. I did an american bustle since I felt it looks best in dip photos while dancing.

  15. Hi Erin,

Thanks so much for that! I came across the "Flattering Me" brand as well but hadn't been able to get any feedback from people who had used it before! I assume it was quote comfortable? Did the back rise up at all?

Look forward to seeing the photos! Wedding planning is so exciting!

  16. The bra stayed put all night and didn't ride up because my seamstress added velcro on the inside of the dress and on the bra - which kept things in place perfectly! This bra also has a very low back and didn't show with the Marisa 737 at all. Really I think it's the perfect bra with our gown:)

Pics coming soon. Congrats and best of luck with your wedding plans!

  17. I'm looking at getting the Marisa- after you bussel the dress, did you have any issues with dancing with the flow of the bottom? Was the material delicate? Would the organza rip if stepped on accidentally?
    Thanks!

  18. Hi There! The organza does rip if stepped on. Every girl I know who has this dress, regardless of how it was bustled...has experienced this problem. I will say though - the flow of the material when dancing is exquisite and the american bustle seems to work best for dip/dancing shots. I hope that helps:)
